If you would like to install vCenter Server on Windows 7, by default the installer will not let you do it and will let you know about it with the following message:

Follow these steps to modify vCenter Server msi file and install it on Windows 7:

2. Run the editor and open \vCenter Server\VMware vCenter Server.msi

3. Locate the part called LaunchConditions and the following entry:

4. Delete it and save the file.

5. Download and install Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) for Windows7.

6. Run the installation.

Remeber that it is completly unsupported, not recommended, etc.
